I have created my first macro and am having trouble, when I opened the first macro panel there is a delay, so I left it there, I added jumps to various soft buttons and tested it, it works as expected although the transmit remains lit and the remote locks up needing a hard reset to unfreeze it. What am I doing wrong?

Depends, if you are using the older firmware, one of the bugs was that the Neo locked up whenever a macro had a jump in it to another Device page!

So you might not be doing anything wrong! If you haven't installed the latest firmware yet, try that.

If you already do have 1.3.3.2 firmware, then I really can't say whats going on..

I continuously had this problem too, even with the upgrade. I had to change 2 things, and now it works fine.

1. always turn off your anti-virus software before you upload or download to the Neo.

2. the first step in the macro CAN NOT be a "beep" or a "delay". These must only be put in after you have programed at least one "command" code (i.e. an rf).
