This post is to voice another update I would like to see from Philips. I don't even know if it's possible, but I would like all four buttons under the screen to be programmable. Before the NEO was released omeone had said these were great additions because of the obvious uses. Namely stop, play, FF and rewind. Since only two are now available to customize I find them of minor value. Think of how great it would be for those of you with TVio, or any pause live play system, if you could use these button to move through programs, and the cursor to change the channels. It's just a thought. I will email Philips with the suggestion, and I hope you all can help me out.
Also, I would not at all be suprised to find out that you can already do this. I seem to be a bit of an idiot with this remote stuff.

According to Philips' future update list on their web site, the two middle buttons will be programmable AND you will be able to re-label them. The two outer buttons will remain "fixed."

I don't see them changing the two outside hard buttons, as you need to have the "Mode" one and the "Device" one for reasons. I could just imagine what would happen if someone overwrote them buttons and didn't add them somewhere else! What a mess that would be! I just use the two middle buttons for off/on
as that way it doesn't mater if there is no lables for them.

I do think a Transport pad like the MX-1000 has would of been nice on Neo, now if the Neo and Mx could be mated together! Wow, that would be the remote to have..

I agree that the mode button has to be there, but the device button is located in two spots so getting rid of one would be no big deal. No one says that you would have to use them either. But there no arguing that they would be much more useful. Maybe they could even leave the mode button there and let it also have other commands. If it was a function such as stop or play this would work since mode has to be held down to access. Now whether this is tecnically possible I don't know.

So two of the four replys are my own. Anyway, I finally remembered who said having four buttons would obviously be great for the above mentioned functions. It was not for the NEO, but rather Daniel Tonks in the Pronto Pro review. I have never owned another one of these fancy prontos so I was wondering where the mode button are for them and why the NEO couldn't be done like that. I saw that the device button in the same location on the pro in some places, but it appeared that it could be different on different pages. Besides, Daniel wouldn't suggest the uses if it couldn't be done.

The mode button on the pronto is the little oval button at the bottom center of the screen

For the ProntoPro it is the icon of the remote at the top
