I have it. I sent you email containing a link to it.

For anyone else who comes across this thread in the future,
feel free to contact me for the link. Although the software
was freely downloadable just a few months ago, it is still
a copyrighted work. Therefore, I'm reluctant to post
it publicly. However, I'll be happy to send it to anyone
who asks me via email.

Could you send me the link? I am interested in controlling the C-1024. I have the C-1024Codes.m5 file but need a way to load it into the remote. Is there a schematic for the cable?

Thanks

Hi All,

I have gotten several requests for the IRClone-MX software
(about 4 a week) since I started making it available last
September. I am happy to do this, and I hope that this
is able to extend the life and usefulness of the IRClone-MXs
and MX-500/MX-600s that are out there!

However, I would like to dissuade folks from posting in
this thread asking for the software or a link to it.
Otherwise, we'll end up with a thread that never dies
and constantly gets bumped to the top (much like the
Xbox 360 thread and a few others).

So, here are my instructions for how to get the software
for the IRClone-MX:

0) Do not post in this forum a message like "please
send me the link".

1) Determine my email address. You do this by following
the "View Profile" link above.

2) Send me email asking for the link to the IRClone-MX
software.
If you have spam filtering software, make it so that I
can send email back to you. If your spam filtering software
requires that I do some sort of two-step process to authenticate
myself after I send you email, I won't do it -- you will
have to add me to your whitelist before you write to me.

3) I will send email back to you containing a URL to an
area on my website.

4) You point your browser to the URL and download the
software.

5) Do not post in this forum a message like "please
send me the link"

6) If for some reason I have not answered my email for
about a week, or email sent to me is bouncing back to
you, please try again.

7) If I have not answered your email after about a week,
then it might be a good time to post to this
thread that you need the software and I haven't come through
for you.

Happy New Year!

Gilbert

in reply to the comment above that the IRClone worked poorly......I too have had the product for several years and own 3 MX-500's. I too think it is a wonderful product and has saved me multiple times with backups of my remotes as well as markedly simplified programming, and allowed some programming that could not have been done otherwise. I still marvel at their ability to reverse engineer both the product and the software.

My only issue with the remotes are that some of the backlights have needed repair, but URC has stood behind them flawlessly and repaired them repeatedly at no charge (have sent remotes back probably about 4 times over many years (not always the same remote). (and actually need to send one of them back now) I would certainly buy other products from them based on how they support their products.

Having the IRClone allows me easily to quickly use the two remotes where I need them most when I send the third one in for repairs......and then to restore the three to their original purpose when I get them back from repair. It would be a real pain if I did not have the IRClone and would have had to do without a living room universal remote for several weeks at a time.

I posted this in a separate posting....but just curious......anyone use the IRClone with windows vista yet? I have recently bought a laptop with vista business on it, and wondered whether it is compatible with the IRClone, or if there are any problems?

I have a report from a fellow who has had success running the IRClone software on Windows Vista:

On February 20, 2007 at 09:21, I got private email from Gene P. which said...
The SETUP.EXE program will NOT install on Vista.... claims the OS is
insufficient for the application. So, I had to install it on another box (XP
Home) and then copy the installed folder over to Vista. At that point, it
seems to work fine.

The USB drivers install with no issues.... a surprise as they did not work
for me under the beta releases of Vista.

So, it is up and running under Vista..... but I'm not sure how someone with
no access to another box to install and copy files would get it working.
Perhaps, if enough people are interested, a zipped folder of the INSTALLED
files should be made available.

I don't use Vista at all, and actually I use windows very rarely. However, if we can get a zip file of this along with good step-by-step instructions, I'd be happy to make it available in the same place I make the other software available.

**SOLD**

Anybody interested in buying an IRCLONE MX?

I bought one several years ago and I no longer use it.

If interested, please PM me.

Thanks - Mitch

Anyone still have the IR-Clone software...can't seem to find my copy anywhere. Planning to resurrect an old MX-500 :)

Yes, I am still in the role of keeping the software available to people. I get an average
of about 2 requests a week from people reviving their IRClone-MX's, wanting to make
a change to their MX-500's, and plenty of stories about crashed hard disks!

Follow the instructions in response #26 in this thread.

Here's a link:

(BTW, I was not at all involved with the IRClone project, I'm just merely making the software available to people now, so long after the product was discontinued.)

Could you please tell me what the name of the file was? I'm pretty sure I have the IRClone-MX software buried somewhere in the hard drive of one of my machines, but I'm not sure what filename to look for.

Thanks!

Do you still have the same email address after three years? If you have the software, please send it to me.

The email address in my profile is current. Please send me an email first and I'll send you the link.

For the curious, the existing IRClone-MX devices out there are still being used. Most of the requests I get for the software are from people whose hard drives have crashed. I still get about 2 requests a month.

Gilbert,
I sent an email to you earlier this month. The email was returned with an admin error.

I have 2 MX-500s and 1 MX-600. I also have an IRclone and the original 500e software that I bought new back in the day. I still keep my old win98se system around just to use with the IRclone hard/software.

I would very much like to have the unlocked IRclone software and any tips for converting to Win7.

thanks! Rusty

Hey kipo92,

Yes, I did get a response, and his email was correct. I just started using a new Win7 laptop. The small screen size and my bad eyesight cause a typo that was hard to see. I would suggest that you email him and he will email back a link for you to download the unlocked software along with other files and useful information.
