Thanks to a post from g.n. in the MX-3000 thread, we now know that the MX-3000 software is available for download! Check it out and let us know what you think! Download it by clicking here. It is approximately a 32 mb download. Greg

There is already live update downloads "live" on the editor. Very encouraging.

You'll note that the User Manual is available under the HELP menu item in MX-3000 Editor.
It will launch Adobe Acrobat Reader.
You would be well-advised to read through the User Manual first.

Greg -
It looks very interesting - do you have any experience with the iPronto? How would you compare the two - putting aside the problems that Philips has had and for the biggest part solved.
I have had an iPronto for appox 10 mos and have really enjoyed it. I was one of the fortunate ones and had very little problem.
Being the "gadget freek" that I am - the MX-3000 is very inviting from what I have seen in the editor.
Thanks for any insight you could give me.

Rudolpht: Take another look at my post just above your first post. Does it not say that the User Manual is in the HELP menu item in the Editor??? LOL

I am looking forward to playing with this software. I really want to create an activity based remote so I am evaluating the software from that perspective. I look forward to hearing what some of the more experienced programmers think of this software.
On to a question re discrete codes:
It appears that you can not import discrete codes. Am I reading this correctly? Page 21 of the manual:
Using the Universal Browser Window
you can import LEARNED IR codes from a .ccf file. You cannot import generated RC5, Database or generated NEC codes, only LEARNED codes.
So what if a discrete code is not available in the IR Database and you can not generate it from a remote? Are you out of luck?

pete It seems to work fine. Codes entered via hex show up as learned codes and can be imported into the MX editor no problem. Of course, without the physical remote around to test it, I can't be 100% sure that the imported codes actually work, but it certainly seems like they should.

The MX3000 jas no problem importing the wacky Sony IR codes from the TA-E9000ES preamp's bidirectional remote in a CCF. If it can do those, it can do anything :-).
