Yamaha av receiver, I can't get the punch through feature to take. I also can't teach it in spite of it saying "good" after the routine. There is no transmit activity on the lcd when I press vl up or vol dwn unless I'm actually insde the AVR device section.
any advice?

With new batteries in the remotes, first get the volume working in av device before attempting to punch it through to another device. So punch-through volume from and to the av device. Now erase the learning attempts from the volume keys. Using the preset code only, does the volume work?

I'm thinking the volume keys have lost conductivity, and no longer works at all. Does the volume keys work for the tv in the tv device?

ive never tried the tv vol, i have the AVR volume working from the RF20on the avr device key, but I can't punch it thru to the cable box device, nor he blu ray, nor the chromecast device key nor the android box.
I only have indication on the rf-20 display that vol is going out when the avr device key is selected.
upon learning, I get a "good" indication on the rf-20,but no output

That's very old remote, I went through 10 rf10's with bad keys . Usually after about 6 months of dayly use. Until you test the keys, there's not much I can help you with

All the keys appear to be good, it responds to vol commands when in "AVR" mode (or receiver, OEM lable), but I can't puch the volume through to anything else. Nor Can I teach the volume to any other device key, even though the display flashes "good" after teaching it, the transmitter display on the remote doesn't show any output like it does on the AVR device key
