I just inherited a MX900 Genesis.
I did find how to do a factory reset which worked fine.
Now, the question is, do I have to learn how to program it with the programming language/software on my PC and upload OR can I use a simple way for it to "learn" my devices/remotes in the "Learn" mode?
I'd like to use "learn" as there are only simple requirements, but how do I do this?
Any guidance appreciated.

Sorry, but yes you need the software for everything. The only way to get software is through a Custom Installer, by buying a remote from them, even then you won't get the software, its up to them to furnish the software with remote.

I received it by answering all the remote URC questions over the years, they offered me employees discount on any remote, of course the software came with it. I don't have permission to gave out software like CI can, so don't ask for it from me.
