Hi,

I have an MX-850 remote, which seems unable to learn properly codes from a Goldmund remote.

I got some codes for this remote, that look like:

5000 0000 0000 0001 0018 0010

Are these the so called RC5 codes?

I'm using the Mx-850 editor 1.12.267, which does offer an hex editor.

However, when I paste this code into the hex windows, I am unable to do anything with it.

Clicking on the drag icon in the hex taskbar does not do anything, nor does dragging it, or dropping a remote button on it.

I'm probably missing something obvious, any help would be appreciated.

5000 0000 0000 0001 00xx 00yy is "short form Pronto Hex" for RC5, device number xx (as hexadecimal), function (obc) yy (as hexadecimal).

Or you can use IrScrutinizer, just paste into the data window and click "Scrutinize".

I'll take a look at IrScrutinizer, thanks.

Meantime, is the above 5000 0000 0000 0001 00xx 00yy format something that the hex editor does not support?

Should I use IrScrutinizer to convert it to another format?

If you can show me what format the MX-850 editor supports, that would be a big help.

Ok, got it to work with iRScrutinize.
It converts:

5000 0000 0000 0001 0018 0010

to:

0000 0073 0000 000B 0020 0020 0040 0040 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0CC8

and this string, the Hex editor can drop on a key.

Thanks for your help!
Robert
