I'm using the MX–450 remote and I have the software to update it. I'm planning on purchasing the Denon AVR-S710W in a couple weeks. I wanted to get a head start by programming my remote to operated. I also have the software for the TX–1000 that I use to use long ago. I ran and updated it because I use it to search for the best set of control codes for my devices. I looked through the set of codes for the Denon receiver and found no model number close to the current lineup. I found a couple of codes. One being labeled "1635" for the model number "AVR–X1000" and another labeled "1558" for the "[Denon 84]".

Does anybody have any experience choosing a code set for this year or last year's models that might fit better? Or do you think I found the most appropriate to choose from? Any information is greatly appreciated. :))

Well I got the receiver and I used code set 1635. It worked pretty good. I only had to program in the "channel" and "page" =/- buttons plus the "info" and "option" button. I never use the "eco" or "sleep" function which were not included in the code set so I did not bother program and those in. Other than that everything else was in there.
