I have programmed an MX-900 using a Teac UR-592B remote control handset, for use with a Teac A-R610 amplifier, however there is a problem with the Vol+ and Vol- commands:
  • Pressing the Vol+ and Vol- buttons on the MX-900 has no effect.
  • Clicking on the "Test" icon for Vol- in the MX-900 editor causes the MX-900 to send a Vol- intruction to the amlifier, and the volume is reduced.
  • Clicking on the "Test" icon for Vol+ in the MX-900 editor causes the MX-900 to send a Vol+ intruction to the amlifier, and the volume is increased - but only on alternate times. (ie. the first click works, the second click doesn't work, the third click works, the fourth click doesn't work, and so on).
I am guessing that the issue may have something to do with forcing the MX-900 to continue to transmit the code for as long as the button is pressed, but I do not know how to maket this happen for a "learnt" code.  I have been unable to find any codes specific to the UR-592B or to the A-R610, and none of the codes for the Teac devices (whether generic or specific) in the MX900 Editor's IR Database Navigator work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try learning the codes with the Learn - 2 option checked. Some remotes use a code that is not the standard NEC codes, which will use an alternating code to work. This may be the case.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have tried both the Learn -1 and Learn 2 options, but neither works. Any further suggestions would be appreciated.

Erase, relearn, but this time hold down the donor remotes volume key until fully learned.
