Man.. so pissed that they discontinued this cheap, but actually very good universal remote.

I have probably had 4 of them over the past 6 or 7 years. The buttons wear out after a year or two, so I would just but another one. You could get them for around $20 at Amazon.

Now this one lasted about two years and I went to go buy another one, and none to be found.. Anywhere! Not even on ebay.. the only ones there are broken and they want $30 bucks for them. what the?

I even called URC to ask them why they discontinued this remote.. some jerk started asking me if I thought I could program my remote, and tried to make it sound like no one could do it but professionally trained people... blah blah blah.
I told him to give a message to his boss.. he's nuts for discontinuing a good product that was obviously popular.

Oh well.. I'd just get a harmony or something like that but detest the entire "activity" programming BS. It's just ridiculous. I don't want to program activities, I want to turn on and turn on things individually as easily as possible regardless if one thing is already on. The remote doesn't know if it is on or off, so turning everything on or off at the same time with one button is pointless, so then you have to work harder and press more buttons to do something the WR7 could do in two button presses.

Does anyone know who's hording all the WR7s? There must be a huge crate of them somewhere on this planet. I cannot believe every single one was sold, but I can't find one anywhere..

The OARUSB04G is very similar in price and functionality, a lot better actually since you can program it from a PC/Mac/Linux and not have to rely on built-in codes. Does macros the same way URC does, not like Harmony. But it's only 4 device instead of 7. The Xsight Color is even better at 15 devices plus LCD (and just as massive as the WR7) and only $18 on ebay. No Harmony style activities on that one either, just macros.
