Hello,
I have two MX-500s that I've programmed to do exactly the same thing. On one of the remotes simply holding the volume button depressed emits a steady stream of IR commands that causes my volume to continue to go up or down appropriately until I release the button, and this is the desired operation. On the other remote, however, I only get one IR command for each button press regardless of how long I hold it down. Thus, I must repeatedly press it to keep the volume changing. I've tried reprogramming this function multiple times but I can't get it to work properly. I would like to know if this multiple-press requirement is merely a programming issue I can correct or if it is actually a defect in the remote.
Thanks, Ray

If you're teaching the volume commands to the mx-500, erase them. Now reteach following way:
1. main & ent 2. Learn 3. tv 4. tap vol up and release on the mx-500 5. press and hold the vol up key on the donor remote
repeat for vol down
