WTB: HTS Mastermind RF/IR remote control system

These were made by Houston Tracker Systems, and consisted of a RF handheld remote, and a RF receiver/IR transmitter pod (with antenna)

Does anybody know about these things?

Yes, I was looking for information on my new Questron system I bought on eBay and thought I would check here to see if anyone responded to my post. If I can get this HTS, I can sell the Questron stuff.

I've recently acquired this Mastemind remote but have no paperwork and not sure how to begin using it. Picked it up because it looked interesting.

Hi. I also have an HTS MasterMind and have used it every day since 1988. Unfortunately, my receiver/Amp just died and I need to reprogram my unit for the ir codes for the replacement Amp. I would appreciate any help with instructions on how to do so. Thanks.

Hi Jack.

I designed the Mastermind back when I was the VP of engineering at HTS. There are no codes for new remotes. The device learns and remembers codes from your device's remotes. These are then associated with buttons on the hand held remote UHF transmitter.

Jack - A follow-up:

Couldn't find the box I was looking for. From memory, you put the base station in program mode, it might be called Learn on the button, and when the unit begins flashing the LED, point the replacement remote at the front of the unit, and press both the button on the Mastermind remote and the button on the original remote you want associated together, and hold them down. I think you will get some sort of double blink, or other indictation it was learned, and go on to the next button. This is from memory, and it's been a looong time, but I think that's basically correct.
