I have been a long time user of the iPronto. (I designed the Scarface theme in the files area.) Mainly because it is the only full screen touch that I have designed a very extensive listing of over 400 movie jackets with the codes to turn the changer right to the movie I touched and play it.

So buying a new model or different remote type would cause a ton of work to redo from scratch.

My problem is. About every 4-6 months my iPronto's seam to die and I find I have to waste money on a new one... ($300-$600) I am on my 4th one!

They either lock up at start up, screen stops responding, etc. The thing is bolted right to the arm of my theater chair, so it never gets dropped, moved or mishandled. It is always hard wired so battery issues are not a problem.

So what is wrong with these things?
Why the short life?
Anyone else have these issues?
Can they be repaired?
Can I get a better model and import my ICF file to not have to rebuild all over again?

Any advice???
