I have had a spare iPronto that I now need to put in service. It is on version 1.6 of the firmware and i need to upgrade it to be compatible with my setup.

When I attempt to upgrade, I ger the follwing blue screen error "The required data could not be downloaded from the device update server"

I have already switched from DCHP to static, and I can browse to sites fine. I thought that since support was withdrawn, the upgrade site may have been taken down, but I called Phillips and they said it is still up.

Any ideas out there?

Many thanks!

Wayne

Interesting, I had packed my iProntos, NetX, TSU-6000 & TSU-2000 away when I moved recently, I haven't even fired them up since February.

I will power one of the iProntos tonight and try the update, i'll post the results.

I have a new ipronto that i have just started to set up ..
It connected to the dowload server yesterday and went through the verification process for updating the software ..

As it happens , my ipronto is on 1.9.5 , so it didn't actualy download any software, but it did definitely lsuccessfully connect to the phillips update server and go through the process of checking the 6 partitions for new software ..

Mine says the system is corrupted and needs to be restored but wont connect to the download server no matter what I try. Is there a way to update this via the SD card slot? Or is mine BRICKED now?

It states on the screen, could not look up host boot.pronto.philips.com

I just tried mine, worked OK.

Micah: Sounds like DNS issues, which might be related to a DHCP problem that I've had before on the iPronto. You might try loading the bootup menu, and configuring all network parameters manually (I recommend disabling all security on your WiFi when doing this to save your sanity).

Thanks, I have entered all wireless info manually in the boot screens and it still is not connecting? Perhaps not connecting to my wireless, and or the pronto site?

The version as of May 2010 is 1.9, built in 2005.

The Pronto seems not to work with todays DCHP and WEP security. I had to configure with static IP address settings and wireless security disabled.
