... a form factor like the Viewsonic Airpanel, but without Nevo and with a useable jog shuttle...

... and skins that look as cool as the cinemar screens, but without software that requires me to have to attach a PC and a Slink-e to my home theater system...

... and a programmability like ProntoEdit, but with conditionals and a few variables or flags and the ability to interact with my computer over an 802.11b network...

... and the light weight of a PDA, but without all the other PDA and Windows CE stuff built in...

... and the two-way capabilities of the Crestron STX 1700C, but without the cost of Crestron or AMX.

*sigh*

Anything get me closer than the iPronto?

Nevo is a remote control software program that comes with the Airpanel and some PDAs. Unfortunately, my review of their manual seems to indicate that the software is relatively brainless in terms of programming--as was said in another RC forum, nothing you can't do with a $10 universal remote. Well, having not had the pleasure of handling one I do have at least 3 wants in a next gen unit. The first (as others have already mentioned) is at least an 800x600 panel. Second would be a docking station, making charging a little easier. Third would be the ability to create your own layouts (something like a 3 panel, or 3/4 panel).

I agree, it would be cool if it was a charging stand

Third would be the ability to create your own layouts (something like a 3 panel, or 3/4 panel).

not sure, what you are asking, but from the demo on the web, it looks like you setup a layout for each of the side buttons

From what I could find in the manual, they don't seem that flexable. It looked like it was a either a single window, or 4 windows and you only selected which one and the contents. I could be wrong, these requirements are based on never handling an iPronto.

now that I understand what you meant, I agree. But I think you might be able to make two or three panels look like one. But I guess until there is a real manual or the editor, I don't think we can know wha it can do

There two options: 1 big panel showing 4 (or less) from one device at once, designed to look like a single big screen; or 4 devices at once with a single panel from any device. Kinda like using four Pronto's at once.
