O.K., Here's what I'd Like to do...
1)Remove all TV (programming) listings from the remote. (I don't care about, nor want to be bothered having to download new listings every other week.)
2)Increse the text size for the numeric channel list. (So I can read it without glasses.)
3)Increase the font size of the "Change Activity" list in the scroll-down or have a "Change Activity" bit-map pop up when I scroll to that option.(Again, so that I don't have to put glasses on to use the remote.)
Love that Harmony!

Phil,

In the watching TV activity you have the option to turn off "Surf Shows" (or something to that effect). That should clear out the guide info (my "update the remote" time went from 23 minutes to 3 minutes).

I would love to be able to increase the font also, or the bit maps for change activity. Great suggestion!

how do you change to a specific channel, by number, e.g. channel 5, without numeric buttons?

Tom,

I still get the channel listings, just no program data. I just scroll through the channels in the display window on the remote and select the one I want. There is also a menu option in the control mode that lets you pick individual numbers and send them, but I have never tried that.

Thanks Axel. Do you find this method acceptable? Do you miss being able to just punch in a number instead, or is it not that big a deal?

I'm really close to getting one of these, but am still a bit hesitant because it's so different....

Tom,

Actually I really like the channel listing on the remote. You can pick which channels to display, so you don't have to scroll through EVERY channel you never watch. And you end up going to the correct channel the first time (my cable system has 5 news channels in a row, I can never remember which one is which).
On the down side, you have to look at the remote, can't go by touch. I am switching from a touchscreen remote, so I had to do that anyway.
I also have a Tivo, so I am probably not changing channels as much as I used to, but rather navigating through menus.

Phil,
back to your original questions:
1.) The option to not show the TV Guide data is now in both the TV and Tivo set-ups, so that is an easy fix

2.)Option to increase font size would be nice...

3.)I remapped my ZAP button to bring up the Icon list to change activities. Much easier on my eyes. I posted the "How to" on the Yahoo board, but I can post it here as well. Let me know...
