2 of my activities are Netflix and Hulu, both are apps on my Roku stick. For each, I just want the Elite to select the app (Netflix or Hulu) on Roku. My goal is to have any user sit on the couch, grab the remote, and then press Roku or Hulu on the Elite's LCD screen and sit back while things power up and open to the right spot.
Netflix opens fine. Hulu opens only to the main Roku home screen. I've exhausted my last brain cell on why they don't work symmetrically.
Here's what I did, using Netflix as an example. I programmed a Netflix activity that turns on the TV and media center and Roku and selects the proper media center input (Roku) and TV input (HDMI3). I had the Elite "learn" the "go to Netflix" command from my Roku remote control (you know, pointing it remote at the hub and pressing the Netflix button and awaiting the hub's confirmation that it learned the command). Then I put the Netflix command at the end of my Activity sequence after powering the devices and selecting the proper inputs.
Works great.
I did the exact same sequence for the separate Hulu activity, learning the Hulu command from the remote, expecting Hulu to open just like Netflix, but it always ends up at the Roku main screen rather than in Hulu. Ugh.
I've added various delays and other usual manipulations, nothing works.
One curiosity is that if I go under "devices" in the Elite, I will now see the Netflix and Hulu commands under the Roku device, as expected, since I "taught" the Elite those commands. But these commands don't respond when I press on them, although other commands (home, forward, etc) do work. Seems to me that is suspect, but I can't thread all this together.
Any help appreciated. I'm dealing with a very simple set of end users here and need my setup to be as easy to operate as possible, and not require any thinking by the end-user of my Elite.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
