As I look back at Harmony remotes over the last decade and a half I am trying to think of what was the best remote they ever made. I have owned maybe 6 different models including the last model, the Elite. That one is a week old and is programmed and sitting brand new in it's box. I will recharge the batteries every few months until my last 900 dies and then that will be my past harmony remote.

So my personal choice after using the 659, 785, 890, The One, 900 and now the Eilite is the Harmony 900. Closely followed by the "one".

The 900 ticks all the right buttons for me. So much so that I have three of them.
One in active use and one with a dead right arrow button that is used as a spare.
The third one was bought on eBay for cheap and is in almost new condition, it's programmed and waiting for it's turn to rotate into service.

What was your favorite?

Hi JGarth,
I owned a few Logitech Remotes, my favourite one was Harmony One, but a point of criticism was the low battery life. Now i have also a Harmony Hub and a Harmony 665. Best is Hub, but I prefer hard buttons and don't like to use a cell phone or tablet for fast operating.
I also owned a Philips Pronto, which has too few hard buttons and can't interact with Amazon Fire Cube. Also Harmony 665 isn't able to communicate with the Cube.

I have to control some devices in my home cinema setup, Samsung TV, Pioneer AV Receiver, ViewSonic 4k Beamer, HDMI switch, Amazon Fire Cube etc.
Ease of setup Logitech remotes was really amazing and without pain.

Cheers
Thomas

A bit late in the game, as Logitech are abandoning their remote lineup. (Bit of a shame, as there doesn't seem to be any good alternatives for hard-button remotes).

I don't have experience with the Elite, or 1000 etc., and I would just as soon stay away from the models that are mostly touch screens. (If I wanted a touch screen remote, I would just use my phone). For me, the top models in my experience are the 900 or the Harmony One. The 900 is the Harmony One with RF extension, and those 4 color buttons. But I have added IR extenders for just a few bucks, so I can use the Harmony One easily, with components hidden inside of a/v cabinets.

Where the One has the advantage over the 900, is its buttons have a better tactile feel and click. That said, I prefer my AR "ARRS05G" remote over both of the Harmony's, because it has a much better tactile button feel, layout and design. But it's not a touchscreen remote; more like a classier Cinema 7.
