Support will almost certainly last a good while. In the meantime, hopefully another company will buy Harmony, or another company will step into the space (IR/RF/IP) that Harmony has left open.
It's easy to make a remote but someone is going to have to make a database of all the IR devices and all the other needed software. Part of Harmonys down fall was PITA App that they created and the short life span of all their remotes.
Other than a Chinese knock off I do not see a convincing business model for an affordable remote if Harmony themselves could not pull it off.
As for support, I give it about 2 years, maybe three. By that time 90% of the user base would have chucked their remotes due to bad buttons and Logitec can exit with minimal fuss. My one hope is that someone opens a restoration business for these remotes and can fix the button bubbles on the circuit board. Replacing the rubber pads does nothing if the metal contact bubbles underneath are no longer making contact.
