No, that's probably a bug. They've had several like that. They usually get them fixed but not very quickly.

Final word from Logitech:

I understand you are having an issue with the device button customizations for your a/v receiver. It is a known issue on our end and our engineers are working to correctl the problem. There is no exact date on when it will be corrected. You will be notified via email once the issue has been resolved.

I have an 880 and just began having this problem with the Additional (soft) buttons on my Watch TV activity. I cannot rearrange them the way I wish.

I wonder whether v7.7.0 introduced a glitch. I wish I had not upgraded from v.7.3 This is very frustrating. Please let me know if/when you receive a response from Logitech support.
Thanks, Doughboy

I have been using 7.7 since Jan and have had no problem rearranging commands on the LCD for any of my Activities on either of my 6 Harmony remotes

Logitech support advised my original Watch TV activity had been corrupted and advised me to rebuild a second one.

It took 2.25 hrs. to rebuild the Watch TV activity to Watch TV 2. Throughout the entire process, I attempted to update the remote several times to see whether the original Watch TV activity would miraclously update my changes to my Additional (soft) buttons, it did not ... UNTIL THE VERY END!

I suspect establishing a duplicate Device (i.e. Optoma HD-71 projector) under a different label (i.e. Projector 2) can cause corruption in the Activities. The solution to the corruption issue may be to delete one of the "duplicate" devices, even though it is under a different label.

Either the establishment of the Watch TV 2 activity (I doubt it) or the other change I made at the very end -- deleting my intial setup of my Projector device (I had created a 2nd Projector device under a different label) -- caused the original Watch TV activity to update! Although I do not plan to delete the Watch TV 2 activity, I plan to retain my original Watch TV activity and use it.
Thanks, Doughboy

Ok it's been 7 months. Did you ever get that email? Will they ever fix it? I just got a 700, using software 7.7.0.0, and it's 'randomizing' the items on my additional buttons on my devices...

You can customize it using the website interface
([Link: members.harmonyremote.com]),
but there is a restriction on the Harmony 700, in that the first three choices in the order must be the activities tied to the buttons, e.g. TV, DVD, Music.

The first activity displayed on the LCD will be #4 in your "master" list. The last three will be #1, #2 and #3 from your master list. Other than that, the website will order the LCD screen based on your choices.

e.g. If you have 7 activities, the order in your master list is 1,2,3,4,5,6,7. The LCD will display in the order 4,5,6,7,1,2,3.

In this example, 1,2,3 must be tied to the hardware buttons. And not to complicate it further, but you can order 1,2,3 any way you like. 1 does not have to be TV, it can be Movie or Music if you want.

It's not perfect, but it does follow the logic that 1,2,3 are selected with hardware buttons, and the remainder is via the softbuttons on the LCD.

I haven't made sense of the way the activities sort for the Harmony 700, but I've found how to force it to show activities in the sort order I want using the desktop software. Assume you want item 1 to be Watch TV, item 2 to be Watch Chromecast, item 3 to be Watch DVD. Do the following:
1) In the desktop software create three activities -- it doesn't matter what three you create or what equipment is associated with them because you're going to change them later.
2) Sync the remote with those three activities.
3) Check the remote and write down the sequence that the activities now show on the remote itself
4) Go back into the software and edit the activity that showed as the first activity on the remote itself. Change its settings/devices per the activity you WANT to be the first activity on the remote (per my example, Watch TV). Save that.
5) Using step 4 as your example, do the same for the second and third activities, as well.
6) Sync -- now you will find that the activities you WANT to be items 1, 2 & 3 on the remote itself ARE items 1, 2 & 3.

I've confirmed this works, and it should work no matter how many activities you want on your remote. Should you finish the above and later decide to add ANOTHER activity -- be warned, you may have to go through the above steps for one or more of your activities depending on where the NEWEST activity shows up on the remote itself.
