I dropped my harmony from less than 2 ft. and the screen stopped responding, it wasn't broke but it would not respond to touch at all, although every thing else was still working.

I followed the instructions of @salsaman to open the remote and see if there was something that I could do to fix it, turns out the touch screen ribbon connector got loose from the drop, I only had to reconnect it, I then replaced the clear tape and went on to reassemble the remote, got the battery back in place and voila, the touch screen was fully functional again. Thanks @salsaman!

I would have hated to have to buy a new remote or even having spent any time trying to get help form the guys at Logitech, looks like there isn't much help there form what I read here and I much rather spend time giving back a little writing this post, so my advice is go ahead and try to fix it your-self, it might be something as simple as what happened to me and don't be discouraged by Logitech's "The Harmony One was never intended to be opened" crap, it is really easy to open!

Recently someone on ebay has started selling the oem lcd screen for the Harmony One. The oem replacement will only work with remotes that were built after a certain date. Check Ebay for more details. The repair will require some close soldering work.

I've posted several guides on my web site to assist folks who want to work on their own Harmony remote controls. Most have pictures, but some are still long-winded narratives. Eventually, I hope to put up full video instructionals, but for now, there's plenty on the Harmony One/900, 880/890 series. So, please visit and pick up some guides. Always happy to answer any questions as well, though if you have specific questions about device configuration, I'm probably not the best resource for that.

P.S. - I'm also the Ebay guy ;-)

I had the same problem, they suggested buying one of their newer models. This was my reply:

Thanks for your reply, but that's a very disappointing response. I'm unlikely to buy another Logitech Universal remote if support for it is so short-lived. Isn't it just a cynical way of selling new remotes by pulling the plug on older ones?

Yours in disgust,

Has logitech improved their support policies since this post began?

Considering how popular the series is, it would be a shame if they've kept the "it was not meant to be repaired" mindset.

He totally rebuilt 2 Harmony one remotes for me. Awesome to work with and he does an excellent job. He has Youtube videos showing you how he performs the work. You can tell from the videos he knows what he's doing.

What is there that can be bought instead of a Harmony? I just got the white screen on my 900. I love the way it works. Does anything else work like it?
