Harmony people,

We need more advanced documentatio on this device. I just have so many idea floting around in my head on how this device could work better, but without access to these docs that's impossible.

1) Full XML docs.

2) Full access to my harmony XML ( all of it not just bits and peices )

3) Binary format documentation.

4) A little knowledge on how the harmony helper applications work ( IR capture, download binary ).

I know this might be asking a bit much, but I just feel that I am missing out on many good features that are just too complicated to put in a web wizard.

Other features that are a MUST HAVE for the website.

1) Pronto codes. I need to be able to cut and paste pronto codes into the language editor. If you want to get more advanced, the ablity to import .ccf files too.

2) Channel edditor

Hi Eric,

You are right.

Our challenge at the moment is keeping up with the pace of our growth. We recognize that our biggest asset is people like yourself, and we want to help you (because in turn, that will help us).

Now that the Harmony technology has stabilised, we can work on creating appropriate documentation for the items 1-4 that you listed. We are currently focused on our US launch at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, in early January. Unfortunately, XML documentation is taking a back seat to some of the new technology we will be unveiling, so you are unlikely to see any progress before then. Sorry.

(Note that our new technology builds on our current architecture and infrastructure, so it gives us even *more* incentive to improve our documentation)

However, we do have some good news:

1) Pronto codes: You *can* currently enter pronto codes. Go to the Infrared Analysis Center (under advanced), and you can enter a 'raw' pronto code for conversion. At the moment you have to manually add it to your device XML, but we are working on a simpler way to add this.

2) Channel editor. We are *feverishly* working on this, and improving our channel lineups.

Thanks for all your support.

Ok, I'll take a DTD or other XML DTD format.... anything?

You can send it to my personal email address.... :)

Pronto codes ) Ok, I could see that... got to do that now.

Channel editor ) that's gret too, but look like I may go back to just using the "simple" mode.

One more thing that I assume is just around the corner... customized action graphics?

Anyways, I've been enough of a pest today.

AH,

So my ears just perked up:
What new technology are you unveiling?
Is it hardware related?
How will we, the less fortunate, (Those who are not going to play at the CES show in January) going to hear/learn about it?

Am I correct that it has something to do with the Easy Zapper, no?

Nosy, Aren't I?

If you tell me it's shopping by remote I'll just barf. It would be fairly useless as well. I have already re-mapped zap to another command.

Yup, you 'scooped' us, Eric. Just kidding. :-)

We are a company that focuses on what people *want*, and what actually *works* in real life. Yes, there are a lot of opportunities on the e-commerce side of this platform. However, our primary goal is to get Harmony technology onto as many remote controls as possible.

I think you will like the new products we will be releasing.

Happy holidays,

Glen Harris
