I've posted some questions at the Yahoo-group, but it's very "quiet" there....I'll try here:

1) How do I add a Thomson TV as a device? Thomson do not exists as a manufacturer. Do I use "Other"?

2) How do I set delay between signals?

3) When Characterizing the Channel Selection Method for my TV, I can choose between:
a) Two numbers (for example, for channel 2, I press '0' then '2').
b) Three numbers (for example, for channel 2, I press '0' '0' '2').
c) Number(s) and then enter (or select) (for example, for channel 2, I press '2' then 'Enter')

My Thomson TV do not suit any of these selections.

When choosing channels between 0 and 9, I just press one digit and thats it.

When choosing channels > 9, I first press a "Greater-than-9"-button, and then two digits. This method also suit channels <= 9, pressing 05 for channel 5. (This is "the opposite of" selection c. I need to hit a button BEFORE the digits)

How can I tell EZ to do it this way?

Regards
Jan Inge

1) Select options:

  • "Add a device (for example if you buy a new DVD player)"

  • "Television"

  • "My Television manufacturer is not here."

  • Select the manufacturer, and enter model.

  • Once the device is created, you're gone have to characterize it, either by using a similar language or create one and digitize all the commands of the remote of your TV.

2)After you created a device; click on it and select
option: "Change the speed settings for this device".
You can setup "Power ON Delay" and "Inter-key Delay" by entering a multiple of 100's in ms.

3)If you have above 100 channels select option b), Even if by typing '9' worked, the Harmony needs to type '0''0''9'otherwise it if you select 2 digits you won't be able to access the channels above 99. Example:
Channel 112 will be interpreted '1''2'. Harmony will "crop" the first digit! That's what happened to me!

Thx for responding Mourad, but I have to ask again. I think you've missunderstood question 1 and 3 (maybe my english is poor ?!)

    1)
    * "Add a device (for example if you buy a new DVD player)"
    * "Television"
    * "My Television manufacturer is not here."
    * Select the manufacturer, and enter model.

I knew this, but my problem is: Thomson do not exists as a manufacturer for TV! Do I choose "Other" as the manufacturer??

    3)
If you have above 100 channels select option
b), Even if by typing '9' worked, the Harmony
needs to type '0''0''9'otherwise it if you select
2 digits you won't be able to access the channels
    above 99. Example:
Channel 112 will be interpreted '1''2'. Harmony
will "crop" the first digit! That's what happened
    to me!

My Thomson can't choose channels above 100. Channels are choosen between 0 and 99. What I tried to explane in my first posting is this:
Choosing channels above 9 on Thomson are done by 3 key-strokes: [Greater10],[Digit1],[Digit2].
(The [Greater10] key on my old remote control look like '-/--'.)
I repeat from my first post: "This is "the opposite of" selection c. I need to hit a button BEFORE the digits".

Hope this clarify my problem, and you post again...

Yes, it does! I found it exactly the same way I mentioned before! But I'm pretty sure you can select "other", because I don't think it's going to make a big difference since you're going to have most likely to digitize most of your remote's commands to characterize the device accuratly!

    3) In your case since you have to handle less than 100 channels I would certainly choose option b) and hope that it works!

    Hope that helps!
