Hi,

I'm a current Pronto owner about to make the Harmony leap (see Pronto thread below).

Since I'm still not exactly sure how the Harmony duplicates *all* the controls on my original remotes, I wanted to inquire about a couple buttons I use a lot and how they'd work on the Harmony). [Seems like all the talk about the benefits of the Harmony center on the channel guide and the "Watch DVD" sort of functions...

When watching video tapes, I frequently use a "smart cue" button to fast forward through commercials (push it once to fast forward, push it again to stop and rewind a couple of seconds so as to not overshoot the program). Is this a function I'd have easy access to (i.e. one button), or would it always have to be addressed by scrolling through a list of commands?

That's just one example. There are about 3 other keys I use frequently (while watching TV, DVD, etc); I'm just curious if the Harmony will allow me easy access to these few functions as well as the usual commands (volume, channels, etc.).

I'm content having most of the obscure commands availble, but buried...I just want to make sure the remote can handle the couple of specific ways I like using my remote...

Darreth,
When you setup your VCR, the Harmony will map common used functions to the hard keys, fast forward, stop, pause, play etc. It may use one of the hard buttons for the "smart cue", if this button is the same as FF. If not, you can add a "Change Button Function" to your Play a Video activity which overrides the default Hard-Button function with whatever you choose. Since the ZAP button has no functionality in this mode, this would be a prime candidate for re-definition.
