Hello!

I saw one post from a Scandinavian person who said he had to change his regional settings to US to make the tutor (donwnloaded software) work. Is this problem aknowledged or confirmed by the people at Harmony or any other users? If it in fact is a problem, is there any possibility this will be adressed anytime soon? I am really keen on this remote, but I am a bit tired of non-european companies that make software that doesn't work outside US (or Canada). There are actually a couple of million potential customers over here too...

Hello Marius.
I can confirm that the problem is present!
I've also been in contact with another user (Norwegian too) that came across this problem.

Yes, Harmony people should do something about it...

Thanks for the quick answer :-) But you managed to make it work by changing your regional settings - is that correct? And you only need to have it set to English while programming the remote, right?

I take it you own the device and are a Norwegian (as me) - could you tell me a little about your experience with the device from a non-US/Canadian user standpoint? I understand that the tv-listings doesn't work (but then again - we don't have 100's of channel to choose from either...) so that is not a big issue for me. Appart from that - does the remote work fine?

Sorry for jumping in,

I live in Switzerland , and I just got my Harmony.
I played with the remote for a couple of hours, and I must admit that it was not as easy as I first thought. Neither component of my home equipment (all pioneer and Philips) was in the database. It took me several hours until I got everything working.
My feeling is, that the setup part of the product is not up to what it should be. Once the remote is configured you really will enjoy it !
I also hated that by default in WatchTV mode the channel up/down button did not work. After spending quite some time to resolve this problem I found a message in the FAQ section under Performance.
I think it is too much TV channel listing oriented, something which is not available to european users.
Finally the download process to the remote takes too long, specially at the beginning when you do a lot of changes/tweaking to your config, it's a real pain.
But I paid for it and now I have too like it ;-)
Just kidding, I hope harmony will improve these points and since it's all software, there is a good chance.
