I actually saw a bumper sticker that said that once. I am not a big Kid Rock fan or anything but it is still music, it is still artistic, and I would say that anybody that can sell a million or so records must be doing something right. We will see Kid Rock perform at CEDIA. Thoughts?

It's all a matter of opinion. Personally I hate country music, but I’m not about to fall out with anyone who thinks it's the greastest thing since sliced bread.

PS
I also dislike dance music, rap and “manufactured” pop bands.

I genuinely love something of all genres i dont like all classical music i do like some, that applies to every genre for me.
The devil went down to Georgia,Joleene, islands in the stream are all good songs in my opinion (If you count them as country ,thats the other thing there does seem to be too many genre classifications nowadays)
I find people are more biased against modern Dance music saying its all rubbish but you will find many people humming or singing dance tunes.

My music collection goes from Aphex twin to ZZ top with soul ,funk, rock and roll, folk, rap, electro, metal, thrash, grunge, indie dance ,jazz ,R&B, classical etc in between not everything from every genre is good and not everything is bad ,i respect the fact others like different music than myself.

My wife loves country.......I hate it with a passion. I like hard rock/heavy metal..........she does not. The only music we agree on........80s hair bands.

Music and life experiences seem to have a "spiffy" correlation. For example, I was never a big fan of electronic music (sub-genres like trans, house, techno, etc.) . I respected it but no real interest, until I went to a fancy night club in Miami.

When I immersed myself in it, the atmosphere, the full eperience, jumping up and down with 2000 people under the lights. It finally made sense, why this music sounds the way it does. Now I understand why some really like it.

While it didn't become my new favorite, I had newfound respect for it and from then on when I heard this type of music, it reminded me of the good time I had.

Bit of a generation gap. Talk about electronic music to me and I think of Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk etc.

Oh yeah! Then a few years later there was Tubeway Army (Gary Numan), Depeche Mode, Human League and Throbbing Gristle, to name just a few.

Country music is great, but that's just personal pride. All types of music have potential to be great, even metal and rap (which are extremes to a lot of people)
