If a player (DVD,receiver, TV etc) does not have
a separate on/off button on its remote, then where
do the discrete on/off codes come from? How do
I go about trying to find the codes for the
equipment I have?

Anyone have the discrete on/off codes for the Sony
DVD player 600D?

You can only do this if you have another remote that contains the codes (I got a bunch from the RM-AV2000 for Sony devices) or have a Pronto and can hack the codes. I have the S500D and currently have not been able to find specific on/off codes, though other models have working ones. I don't know if the 600 has the same problem.
