Well you may not actually be asking the right question?

If you really need physical on and off buttons on the remote then you might be out of luck as I have not yet seen a DVD remote come with discrete on off buttons.

However if you are looking for a player which will respond to discrete/seperate on and off codes, then you are in luck.

Almost every sony DVD play except the 500?? has discrete on and offs. I do not think toshiba has discrete. research this in the file area and pronto forum.

My Pioneer DVD player (DV-414) works with discrete on/off codes found in the files section here. My JVC VCR does to, so I suspect any JVC DVD would. ALL my Sony devices (TV,DSS,Receiver) work with discretes. Sure bet there.
