Now that there are around three million DVD players that have been sold over the past few years, some of us have collected up to 100 movies or more.

Anyone have an inside scoop on any company planning to manufacture a DVD Jukebox? Wouldn't THAT be something to be able to load up all your movies and select which ones to play from an on-screen interface!

Thanks in advance to anyone who's heard anything. Let me know if there are other people than me out there who would like this!

I thought Sony not only has a new 5 disc DVD changer but also a 200 DVD changer coming out this year/month.

Yup, it's true. Sony has the first 200 disc changer coming out very soon. The only thing that kinda held me back from getting this unit is that it does not play CD-R.

Why not CD-R?

If it uses their new single-layer system you can't read CD-R discs. But you can read CD-RW.

www.cameraworld.com is selling them for $650 including shipping. Only drawback I have heard so far is that it won't play both sides automatically if and when there are two sided disks.

I love this site. Info, help, and now true savings.

Barry, thanks so much for your post, you and 2 toll free calls saved me $195. Here's a tip, to get the free shipping, you must tell them you saw the free shipping offer on their web site.

BTW, what DVD players are out there that autoplay both sides?

If you really want a quality player with a color
touch screen and a 100disc DVD cpability with
firewire connections and more... Then checkout
the Escient TuneBase 100. This will give you the
ultimate source for your home theater and keep
the kids from playing frisbee with your DVDs.-jay

Well my DVP-CX850D has been up and running for 10 days. It is integerated into the PC control system which mintains the disk library. I wish there was some way to direct access a slot without going through the disk explorer display.

The main feature I don't like is the auto play of the loaded disk on power up. The currently loaded disk is the one we watched last night!

For you Pronto Fans, the device code is 2362 (same as all other DVD players)and the majority of the codes are the standard sony key codes. I have the codes mapped from the remote and will begin searching for new codes (undocumented or not on the remote) in a week or two when I get some time. They use a second device code for the dual function keys (3162) when in the Explorer setup mode.
