Does anyone have any experience with the Sony S330? Is it a good player or not?

It's an excellent player, but has been plagued by a lipsync problem when the audio and video go out of sync. Apparantly, it's been fixed now. Get a player with a manufacture date after August 15th, 1999. Or, if you get one that's older, take it in to Sony and they'll upgrade it for you.
