How did you perform the upgrade to the 9000ES?

Also, how did you know what version you initially had?

Please let me know when you have a chance.

David, First of all you need to get a hold of the upgrade patch file which is version V1.10C. Then from your computer you'll need to upload this upgrade patch to your es9000 via your PC's serial port and your es9000's RS-232 port. If you don't know what's your amp's version, do the following: 1)Press AUTO FORMAT button.
2)Turn +/- knob counterclockwise.
3)The display will be scrolled.
4)If "TA-E9000ES Vn.nn*" appeared as the last item, the Vn.nn* is the version number.
If "(scroll end)" appeared as the last item, the version is Ver1.01A.

If you want to know more about this, you can go to hometheaterforum.com and search for es9000. Furthermore, there's already a thread entitled "EP9ES & 9000ES" under "Sony RM-AV2000 Chat Forum".

Hello,

I'm thinking of getting the Sony S530D and was wondering if the sync problem has been eliminated if I buy a recently manufactured unit. If its fixed, is there a cutoff date of manucfacture?

Thanks.

Hello,

I wonder if this lip-sync problem will be there in the new Sony 200-disc changer. Anybody has any information???

Thanks...

Well, I called in the lip-sync problem on my s530 about two months ago. This morning, Sony called to tell me that they'd be sending FedEx over to pick up my DVD player tomorrow, and that in ten days they'd have it back to me with a replacement chip. Apparently they've got the problem solved, so if you have purchased an s530 or 550, I'd recommend giving them a call.
