Hi I am writing a Philips Pronto 2 way script for the Yamaha BD-S2900 ... it's almost done and it works, however I am timing the response from the Yamaha at up to 5 seconds after status change .... that is, when going from "PLAY" to "PAUSE" (for example), then unit will be in PAUSE Mode but the RS232 codes returned from it will indicate "PLAY" status for another 5 seconds, before they state "PAUSE".
When monitoring the "SYSTEM ON" and "SYSTEM OFF" statuses, the response from the unit is very quick, less than 1 second.
It does not matter if I actively send an RS232 code for status request or wait for the systems own unsollicited status change broadcast messages ... it'll take some 5 seconds before the unit reports a correct status (as I check every 0.5 seconds, I get 9-10 wrong answers before I get a correct one, so the problem is not a response time one ... just that the unit doesn't seem to know itself what is is doing ...).
Any suggestions, ideas ?
(It's of course Pronto <-> RFX9600 serial port <-> BD-S2900)

Maybe it's better to ask the question again in the Pronto Professional area from the site ..
