I have Comcast digital cable box, and a VCR and hooked everything up according to the manual, but, now I can't access any of my on demand features, thru my cable box, because I have to go thru my DVD recorder to change channels, is ther any way around this,
My other panasonic DVD player(not recorder), just went hooked up directly to my TV, without attaching thru the cable box.
What can i do, please response as soon as possible, I'm almost ready to return the DVD recorder.
Thanks
Barry

Use different outputs from the box from the cable box to the TV and DVD recorder. It's hard to explain anything without knowing if it's an HD box and/or HDTV. Makes and model numbers go a long way.

It's not a Hi def anything, Got digital cable with a Motorola cable box, the TV is a regular Hitachi 30 inch screen TV, a Sony SLV-N50 HiFi VCR and a Panasonic DMR-EZ28 DVD recorder with a tuner. There must be a better way of hooking everything together so I can use my cable boxes "on demand" feature

Simply use a splitter from the cable box output and take the coax output from one part of the splitter to the input of the VCR then the output of the VCR to the TV. Then use the other side of the splitter to connect to the DVD input and then take the DVD outputs (RCA Audio/Video outputs I assume) and connect them to the TV RCA audio/ video inputs.

I do not believe the Panasonic has an RF output so you will have to use the RCA or S-Video outputs.

In fact, if at all possible, you should use RCA or S-Video outputs from the cable box to the DVD recorder. If it's got two sets of outputs, use the other one to go to the VCR and then to the TV.

Using the coax is taking the signal the way you get it via the S-Video cable, then modulating it onto channel 3 with a $2.00 TV station, then tuning it in and getting video again. It CAN'T be as good as with the video and audio cables.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
