For those that don't know DVD Profiler 3.0 was released a few days ago. It can be downloaded at DVD Profiler's new website here. This is a major update to the software which includes a sizable facelift, Vista support, and many new features and improvements. While the software takes a bit longer to load now everything else about it is much faster I've found. I especially like the different views that can be used to view your "Collection List" such as the "Thumbnails" and "Details" views. There's also a cool plugin included which shows a scolling view of cover images for your collection based on whatever criteria you choose.

While upgrading, getting it to accept my new license key (by copy & paste) was troublesome. I had to manually type my key.

Otherwise, seems to be pretty good. The only thing I don't like is that for several of the DVDs I've had to go in and edit the UPC codes. They now want ALL the numbers in the UPC code and not just the ones "between the two outermost numbers on each side of the code". A bar code scanner would really be handy.

Thanks Lp for the announcement.

The makeover (appearance & flexibility) is outstanding, but it's sad to see the $ Price Finder feature gone. I'm really going to miss it for doing price comparison checks.

Hmmm....is anyone else having problems accessing the Invelos website? Just curious since I'm having no luck connecting to it at home (as of last night) or at work today (19April, 2007).

shnakz69,

Version 3.x is not YET compatible with DMX-3000 software, but the software author is working on it along with working on adding CD support.

DVD Profiler 3.0 support should be available within the next week. I hope to get the update completed this weekend and tested the first part of next week.

Lucy, they have some explaining to do. :-)

Sorry, I do not. Maybe a server overhaul? Well, what I'm doing in the meantime, is using the previous version of DVD Profiler 2.5 from InterVocative Software. You can connect to there website with no problems.

www.intervocative.com

So don't remove the old software just yet.

Edit: Correction on version noted.

Looks like there is a legal problem so looks like I may have to go back to 2.4!

Let's hope they get this settled quickly (as in months and not years).

Well, the word out is that InterVocative has sued Invelos over copyright legalities and has been able to shut down there website until the suit is settled.

Not good. :-(

Edit: Sorry for the redundancy ... JustPlainDon beat me to print :-) However the link will enable you to keep up with the court proceedings of the case.
