I need to replace my old SONY DVP-CX860 300 disc DVD player. I was thinking that instead of getting one of the newer 400 disc models I might consider getting a couple used or older models for the same price and even if they are the 300 disc models, 600 disc capacity is a lot better than 400.
But I'm not positive that two SONY changers can operate in the same room without both of them responding to the remote signals. I seem to remember that there is a way to set them up so that they don't both respond to the same signals but I can't find this information anywhere. I looked through the manuals for both the DVP-CX860 and the newer DVP-CX995V and didn't see anything. I also search this forum where I thought for sure this topic would have been covered.
If anyone can point me to some information to verify that I can use two changers in the same room (and how to do it) I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!

The CX995V has three different command sets. They are changed by a procedure that is in the manual. I have two 995's one stacked on top of the other and can control each individually. If You have the manual it is on page 16.

Thank you. I don't know how I missed it. I think I did most of my searching in the DVP-CX860 manual which doesn't have this information except to say that when a CD changer is connected, you should set the "command mode" of the connected CD changer to 3.
So now, I'm wondering if the old DVP-CX860 also supports the same functionality? I see that the DVP-CX985V also does.
I'll look at my remote and DVP-CX860 changer when I get home tonight to see if it has the switches. From looking at the manual on-line, I don't think it does.
