It's that time again to ask yourself, "How many DVDs do I have?" The last consensus was conducted over three years ago.

I currently own 545 DVDs.

The DVDs are housed in two Sony DVP-CX985V Changers. They are cataloged using DVD Profiler software. Programmed/displayed* through Philips TSU7000 remote control.

My name is David. I'm a DVDaholic and my favorite day of the week is Tuesday. :-)

* Special note of thanks goes out to webmaster, Daniel Tonks and, Frank Davis (Lowpro) for allowing me the use of their work.

1. I have more than 800 DVDs.

2. More than 25% have not yet been viewed!

3. They are stored in one compact area but not catalogued using any program. I do maintain and update an alphabetical list (so I do not duplicate a purchase).

4. My name is not David (nor Goliath); I may be a DVDaholic (you can pass judgement if you like); my favorite day of the week is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Satuday, and Sunday :=) (in no particular order).

*I cannot send a Special note of thanks to webmaster, Daniel Tonks and Frank Davis (Lowpro) for allowing me to use their work because I have not used it (but if I do, I will respond with a kind word or two)!

Um, I visit a DVD site every day. Anything under a thousand there is inconsequential. I've got less than 300, it's like I just got a player yesterday to these guys.

What happen to all of our DVD-collectors out there? Oh, well ...

Oh, well ...

We're still here. I've been counting my collection. Seriously, I'm a DVD whore too. I don't have as many as some of you but I'm picky and I buy a lot of TV on DVD. I have 570 DVDs in my collection and I use DVD Profiler to keep track of all of them. I heard about DVD Profiler in the forums and I had to have it once I tried it out. I pickup the "must have" movie now and then but that doesn't happen much. Movies aren't as good as they used to be so I scour worldwide for must have movies and television shows. I'm more interested in having the DVD's then actually watch them. I'm getting better but just when I think I'm caught up, I buy more. I mainly use a Sony Jukebox as my main player and plan to buy another one.

Isamisis -

Whew! Good to hear from someone that suffers from the same DVD affliction that I have. :-)

I'm also selective, what I call "DVD worthy", when purchasing DVDs.

I too have a backlog of movies that need watching. My "Now Playing" genre has over 70 titles.

Here is my collection if you wish to view it:

I would like to keep this thread alive. I know there are more of you out there that need to enroll into the 12-step program for DVD-collectors. :-)

I just bought ten over the weekend. That brings my "small" collection to about 300. I have probaly only watched about half of them. We get our movies from a lady that owns several video stores and sells the movies to us after they have been rented a few times. I can get all the new releases for $9. Not a bad deal and she guarantees them as well.

P.S. I am currently on step 3 of 12

Congrats on beating the addiction.

I'm afraid I don't have the will power to go cold turkey. My love for movies, latest count - 572, wouldn't allow me to do that. However, to ease the compulsion of buying and possibly save a little money at the same time, I now wait for my "wish list" of DVDs to go on sale (drop under $10).

What's the point of your reply? To be condescending? If this was your point you succeeded and it's not at all flattering.
