So, I'm a novice when it comes to all electronics, I just figured out how to burn a Dvd and when I went to play it on my Dvd player it would not read, so my question is... How do you know if your Dvd player is compatible to read Re-writables??? Please help!! Thanks

Was it a video you shot? Something burned from a TV? A DVD movie?
Did you burn it on a rewrite? Try a DVD +R or DVD -R, Not a DVD RW. Rewriteables have issues. The other thing is- Did you try running it on the computer that burned it?
Lastly, what program did you use to burn it.

Did you 'finalize' the burn, which creates the disc's TOC?
