Does anyone have any idea what the "KIT2" stands for? Just noticed there are some being advertised this way.

Hmm, it would sorta imply that it's coming with bonus accessories, but I can't find anything different.

Yea, I called, should have done that from the beginning. It just means it comes with 5 "free" DVD's. I was hoping there was some sort of great firmware upgrade.

IR codes?

I have a full set of IR codes for each Command Mode, including discrete power on and off codes. While these codes are for my 985 changers, the 995 uses the same IR codes. There may be a few new IR codes for the 995 I'm not aware of. I'm not sure about that, but my codes will certainly get you 99% of the way there. Below in my signature area is a link to my PCF download post. When downloading and opening my PCF the Sony codes for Command Modes 1-3 can be found in the last section of the device tree called, "Pronto Signals". The names of the specific devices are listed below.

Pronto Signals (Sony DVP-CX985V (DVD 01) / CM1 / RF / ID1)
Pronto Signals (Sony DVP-CX985V (DVD 02) / CM2 / RF / ID1)
Pronto Signals (Sony DVP-CX985V (DVD 03) / CM3 / RF / ID1)

The "CM" designation in each device name calls out the Command Mode for said codes. If you happen to copy any of these devices to your PCF make certain to adjust the RF tab accordingly based on your own physical setup.

Thx for the info. Do you happen to have discrete codes for Pionner 1014tx? I searched already and didn't find. In particular I'm looking for the discrete codes for the surround settings like THX, DLPIIX Movie and music, NEO etc.,

Sorry. I don't have those codes. I'll keep an eye out for them though.
