So, I already have a dual processor server with raid and a gigabit ethernet card and a dvd burner. Now I am looking for software to setup a media center-server for my house/home theatre. It doesn't matter if it's linux or windows based, but all my other computers are running windows XP Pro so setup might be easier with a windows system. I don't need any form of streaming as I only have one tv, and the server sits right next to it. Any ideas? Do you guys set these up with images of the dvd? I am interested in any homebuilt how toos or setups also, links etc. I know this is a remote based site so if anyone could steer me to any websites that might be helpful that would be great. Thanks!

Try the Meedio software (www.meedio.com). You can try the easy version and extend it with the plug-ins which are free of charge. It also has a module that connects to the internet (p.e. the IMDB.com site for the covers).
