I would like to ask you , if you do not know how to unlock my Sony DVP-CX995V to region free DVD player. I unlocked my Pioneer but no idea how to unlock Sony. Thanks Rob

You can't, AFAIK. It would have to be modded physically. www.jvb.nl or other places can do this for a cost.

Wow! How did you find this web?? Thank you Spiky , I want to move back to Europe soon and I bought all my A/V here in USA , so I want to figure out , if is better to sell all my pieces or try to deal with NTSC , Region 1 and 120V back in Europe. Thanks again for your help... Rob

I've had that bookmarked for years. Note that region free is only half the battle. You also need PAL/NTSC conversion one way or the other. Or a TV that is capable of displaying both. I don't know about that Sony, so check it out. JVB lists whether players convert.

www.zonefreedvd.com is another company that does this. As I mentioned above, there is usually no way to unlock a Sony for free. Some players allow this with a remote sequence or a firmware alteration. Others must be physically modded.

You can try searching for this model at www.videohelp.com in the DVD Hack section to see if anyone knows more.
