I have a Medion MD 42167 portable DVD player, which has recently become separated from it's remote control. I have been trying for hours on end now to get a replacement handset, drawing a blank on all attempts, including the manufacturer. If anyone can steer me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

I'm not so sure. Methinks "Fatty McButterpants" is a little too whimsical, and Medion sounds awfully Aldi.

And "Alistair" isn't all that common a name, but much less so in the States than in the UK.

Now everybody get ready to bend your brains around this possibility -- it is a person in India who does telephone customer service work for an American company. He uses an English sounding name...imagine the stereotypical Indian accent with the retroflex R's, the perfect pronunciation but slightly different wording. Unless, of course, he is in his American looking office on American time, practicing his American accent on the phone!

By Jove, I think I've got it!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I mean, say "Fatty McButterpants" with your best imitation Indian accent!

Yes, I am the guy who always encourages people, often with biting sarcasm, to not be afraid of putting their location in their profile. It might help in this circumstance, huh?
