This summer I've mostly been using Blockbuster although last summer I did have a one-moth subscription to Netflix, which had a pretty awesome selection. Recently though I've acquired access to a new library system which has an exponentially larger DVD selection than my old library system. It's going to save me a ton of money!

Cheers,
-Jonathan.

I have never "got" any discs by renting or borrowing, since they have to go back. But we do borrow from the library fairly often. Ours doesn't do much for movies, but they are getting better. Lots of kids discs, though.

I know that getting is more appropriate for buying, but I couldn't come up with a better title.

We use my wife's card since she is the one going there most often. And we almost always have to get DVDs by putting a hold in the computer since they are seldom sitting on the shelf when you arrive. I've tried to borrow Amelie twice, but she hasn't bothered to pick it up and they stick it back in circulation after a week or something. I suppose I should try a 3rd time.

Most movies I want are not at the branch closest to me, but it's worth the hassle of ordering them for free vs. $4 + tax at Blockbuster.

At Wal-Mart there is a bin where every movie out eventually gets put in for $5.50. Unfortunatly it took me buying over 2000 at near full price for me to learn to wait..... But the empty boxes help deaden the room as they are all on shelves built just for the plastic boxes.....

Here (in Canada) I usually just buy locally... Future Shop, Best Buy & CostCo. And every now and then I'll do an Amazon order for harder to get stuff.

Haven't done the renting in a while but when I do there are a lot of rental places around and depends on my mood. Like Daniel mostly buying in the obvious places and a few small DVD shops and Wal-Mart (Wal-Mart the least because I hate that place, and only when I go there for other stuff)

I can't afford to rent movies*, so I buy them.

*(Because the late fees cost more)

I bought mine from www.dvdto.com
Very cheap $6.50 and they have old collections at cheaper price. I got my matrix reloaded at $2-3.
