...still no DVD from Barclay Hinson!!???
I received confirmation that he got my money order over two weeks ago and nothing else has been heard or seen since. I fear I may have been ripped off. I will advise if anything else develops.

I ordered this DVD several months ago and delivery was very slow. The seller did quickly respond to my e-mail.

The picture and sound quality of this DVD is extremely poor. My copy has Asian sub-titles that pop up every once in a while.

If you just want to file this thing away in your library, O.K.
If you intend to watch and enjoy the movie, forget it! We've been taken.

I have not seen anything yet. I week ago I got a note from Barclay indicating that I should expect something in a week. Sorry to hear about the quality. I got a note from Barclay before I ordered explaining how wonderful the quality is (laserdisc quality), so I am anxious to see what happens. If anyone gets anything in the mail pease let me know and I'll do the same.

Sorry to say... I still have no response from Barclay Hinson! I'll have to decide what to do about that. Based on his initial contact I really thought he was straight up on this.

Meanwhile, does anyone have any experience with any other source for this DVD, such as ...dvdremastered.com?

Sorry to report that there has still been no response from Barclay Hinson. He has apparently cashed in my money order and my trust in him and laughed on his way to the bank. What happens next could be very interesting!

I ordered a DVD of Song of the South from Barclay_Hinson and I did not received this DVD. I know my credit card was billed and paid through PayPal. This company I guess just takes the money but never sends you the item.

Still no response from BH here, either!!!!! ..what a ripoff!

Vickie, I was under the impression that PayPal is safe? If not why would anyone use it? ...can you get your money back?

How can we warn others about this scam?

And is there anyone who IS reputable that can provide this movie?

Paypal is safe for the buyer. If you did not receive your product you can request a refund from Paypal. Here is the main catch-
All claims must be filed within 45 days of the transaction.
Log in to Paypal and click on the Resolution Center tab. The rest is self explanitory.

I found remastered DVDs at [Link: songofthesouthdvdremastered.com].

Has anyone ordered from them? Any problems? I'm hoping to find out before I spend $20 on what is essentially a bootleg. I still plan to buy an original when/if Disney ever releases it, but I am tired of holding my breath.!!

Thanks!!!
:-)

We've ordered from several different sites, and by far the best one we've found is http://www.songofthesouthdvdremastered.com . The quality is excellent and they made a really good presentation of it all. We also had a few sent to family for Christmas and they loved them too. Hope that helps.

If Im not mistaken I saw it on disneys homepage. Is this not the same one everyone is reffering to? If so wouldnt it be better to buy it directly from disney?

lol... Well that would be "nice", but I'm sure everyone on the thread knows you can't get this from Disney of course. I actually retired from Disney after 8 years in their executive department. Not only is it nearly guaranteed that this film will never be released in the US but it is a guarantee that if they do release it it will surely be edited (and by the way they were talking it would be a lot more than the "tar baby" section). I know a lot of people, a whole lot of people don't like to hear that, as they love the film, but that is the sad but true part of it. The high-ups in Disney actually comment that Disney just doesn't want to be recognized for making this film period. Word is if they do release it it will not be for a very long time, meaning by the time it is released no one will even remember it anyways.
