Hello,
I just bought a Sony DVP-CX985V mega changer and so far for the price I'm happy. The one thing I can't figure out is how to play a rental disc without having to hit the load button and waiting 45 minutes for the player to scan all of my DVD's. I read through the manual and can't seem to find a way to play a rental disc without going through the lengthy load process.

This all started when my wife and I rented a disc and I spent the next 1/2 hour pouring through the manual to no avail. This doesn't help the WAF!

Can anybody help me out here? I'm about to pull my hair out and I don't have much left.

Do not press the LOAD button.

Thanks for the response.

I thought I had to hit LOAD for the player to recognize the disc (since it had a ?) but I just tried it and you're right it does work.

After inserting the disc I just had to choose it in the folder window and it played.

Thanks again.

You can also cue them up manually with the remote. This is what I do for my NetFlix.

Just take note of the changer slot numbers you place your NetFlix in and execute the sequence of key presses with your remote detailed below.

Slot Number (Numerical Entry)

Display

If a disc is already playing as you excute the steps above you will have to hit display twice at the end of this sequence instead of once.
