I've just purchased a Panasonic DVD player to go with my Panasonic DVD recorder (wanted a component output).
Messing around with the set-up of the DMR-E50 noticed it had a menu option for 2nd Remote, excellent I thought, I'll use that and it won't interfere with the DVD player.
Switched it over to Remote 2, but HOW do I change the remote control unit, now when I press any button I get DVD 2nd Remote message and it only effects the player.
Can't even change it back without a working remote - Doh !
PLUS - What DID I do with the manual ?
thanks in advance,
Furby

OK Panic Over - Managed to Download the manual from the panasonic website.
It's a combination of remote buttons to change the remote.
thanks anyway,

Thanks for letting me know in time. I'll cash in that airline ticket I bought to Osaka to get an answer for you, and the seance I was going to hold to answer the "What DID I do with the manual" question.

Step 1: Go to your favorite office supply store. (can even be Target) Step 2: Purchase small file box for under $10. Step 3: Put manuals in box. Step 4: Keep box.

better yet....took me a long time to think of it, but as someone who can't stand to throw away any manual, and HATES keeping big stacks of them around, I have totally .pdf'ed my manuals stack into the garbage...go to your manufacturer's web sites, nearly all of them will have links to online .pdf manuals...find them and save them to your hard drive...after spending about two hours on the 'net, I found manuals from my sony dvd drives, to my entire home theater, to all my home's appliances...end result, I was able to throw away probably 100 lbs of paper and trade it for one 30MB folder on my hard drive....I was just amazed it took me so long to think of doing it....

And in 5 years when your hard drive crashes, the manual's no longer online, and you discover your CD backup no longer works... you'll wish for that big box o'paper in the attic. :-)

Hey, to each his own....but I find it no more difficult to maintain a working hard drive and a good set of CD-ROM backups than to maintain a big box o' paper in the attic....lighter too.
