In my version of the matrix there's already a DTS version, but then it's not really real . . . is it?

Probably not. There's nothing wrong with DD or the Matrix soundtracks so far, why worry about DTS? Are we going to have this tired discussion again? I'll admit the 1st movie could stand a remaster of the video (and I think that's in the works for a box set), but the audio is just fine.

No, not 7.1. 6.1, maybe.

OMG, you people are morons. I give up. Goodbye.

Here's something to chew on:
DTS just announced they are working on an UNcompressed audio format for commercial theaters.

A lot of the differences between DTS and Dolby soundtracks has to do with the actual mixes, rather than the technology behind the sound. That said, I've found that DTS mixes are more likely to have a nice, "punchy" LFE channel than their Dolby counterparts.

Since "Superbit" is a Columbia Tristar thing, you're not going to see it on a Warner title. Remember that there's nothing really special about Superbit titles - they just guarantee to use the maximum available bitrate for audio and video. Many non-Superbit titles do that as well, look just as good, and actually come with extras! :-)

The trick is not to try and hear the discrete channels, that's impossible. Instead you need to realize that the channels don't exist.
