First, DTS isn't better.
Second, DD isn't crap.
Third, DTS is cranked up 4db higher than DD by your receiver. So you have to turn DD to a different volume level, big deal.
Fourth, DD is mandated by the DVD Forum to be on any disc that wants to use the DVD-Video symbol. DTS is an option and not always included.

Crap???? C'mon. Its not like its "Dolby surround" , or equivalent to the audio from a 1983 Betamax film.
Does anyone remember quadraphonic sound?

THX is a form of compression?
Do you make this stuff up as you go?

Get a clue.

steveTO, you are so obviously unhappy. Do us all a favor and end it. Just kill yourself.

Seriously, man, I mean it. I wish you would kill yourself and your neighbors in the trailer park could find your dead, fat a$$ in a few days when you get to smelling a bit worse than currently.

Once again, just do it man. You hate yourself so deeply just end it, man.

Good to see I am not the only one who is having issues with SteveTo, I don't have the same hatred you do towards him, but this is to exchange information. Not to think you are superior to everyone else, which SteveTo obvioulsy believes he is.

Suprised you did not read into my sarcasim in my recent apology to you. No matter what your inteligence, I have no more respect for you than the dump I flushed down the toliet this morning.

I am going to guess the feeling is mutual.

"I am going to guess the feeling is mutual."

That's the first time you've ever been right about anything..congrats.

It seems that anthony and roddy are brokeback buddies....and miserable at that!
Why not post something of substance...or at least based in reality, for a change.
I gather that you're unhappy that you don't know anything, and when simple things are explained to you , you get upset.

Post something valid, and you won't get 'bashed'....time to grow some balls, boys.

...or crack a book, please!

steve, you are such a joke. One, all you do is borrow from other people's posts to respond. Two, you've never "explained" a single thing, simple or otherwise. All you do is bash. That's it. Period.

Start to contribute, "explain" things. If you were willing to share, people would possibly respect you and gain from your supposed knowledge.

No one here wants things to get ugly but, you are a classic example of "you reap what you sow".

Still waiting for something of substance, do a search of my name. You will find a thing or two. Did a search of yours, found none.

Flush...

For others who read this thread, I feel like crap about what I said in an earlier post. Conviction is getting to me. I am sorry steveTO, I shouldn't have gotten as ugly as I did. In the future I will simply "stay away from you". No sense in me continuing to make myself look bad by trying to make you look bad. You do fine all by yourself.

This thread should come with a warning label...

From what I understand DD is more universally accepted, and most receivers will play DD no problem. Higher end systems (until the last few year) were capable of playing DTS, but this is always a selection you have to make in the DVD menu. You ever notice in most DVD's they ask you to confirm your system is capable of playing DTS when you select the DTS track? Also as stated before the DD track is going to be there no matter what on newer DVD's, however the DTS track adds cost to production, thus only directors, and production companies that value top quality sound will invest the time and money to add the additional sound track to the DVD. Lucas, and other like him always have DTS tracks as they stress the best audio, and best video!
I long for a better world. One in which a chickens motives will not be questioned when mearly crossing the road.
