This is a multi region DVD player sold on Amazon. I have a URC 980 but am having a hard time learning the codes.

This component isn't in the database so am wondering if anyone has the codes including any discrete on/off codes.
Thanks

most off brand dvd players won't be in the urc database.

for discrete codes, you're probably out of luck there too.

there is a possible work around.

see if the play command turns the player on.  if that doesn't work, try the eject command.   if you can get it to turn on, then you can built a macro using those codes, followed by a delay that's long enough for the player to accept the power toggle code.

so:

play
delay x seconds
power

would turn turn the unit off.

As far as having trouble learning the codes, try using the Learn Twice option in the URC window.  Try holding the remote at different angles or distances from the URC remote when learning.

Thank you for your reply neither the play nor the eject buttons power on the player.
I know I should persevere with the learning mode and I will I suppose but I decided to decode the signals using an Arduino and Ken Sherriff's library.
I have managed to collect all of the codes off of the remote.
For example.
POWER ON = A659FF00
EJECT =E619FF00

I just need to figure out how to convert them to a code that my MX980 will take using the Universal Browser in CCP
