Thanks all for looking and trying to help. As the subject above suggests, would anyone know if any files exist for the USB ports on this TV?

Using a MX900 remote.

Thanks in advance.

Those codes are easily available in CCP and TC. Check the PN60F8500 or the PN51F8500. I'll post the HEX later for the sake of others, but the easy fix for you is to ALWAYS check for the same series line in the URC database. F8500 has tons. :-)

Hi and thanks for replying. I can't seem to find any of those models either. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong area? I checked the files area of URC and don't see anything close. Can you please direct me where to find them?

Thanks!

In software? In complete control or stand alone editor you don't see this TV listed?

Thanks for the reply. I did need to do a live update on my editor s/w and then newer model tv's do show up. However, all the new tv's with "usb" as a choice merely take me to the "smarthub" main screen. So I still need to drill in deeper to get to the usb port (movies, photos, etc.). Is the above hex from one of those tv's in the IR database or the actual discrete?

Thanks, I appreciate the guidance.

It's from the model numbers listed above. I would have to look at the OEM remote to see if this is a discrete. I don't think the OEM has a usb button, but I would need to check.

The OEM remote does not have a button for it. That's the problem. ;) Thanks for trying to help.

What does the hex I gave you above do?

Sorry. I completely misunderstood what you were looking for.

There is a post several threads about Samsung TV's and a code search. The OP posted tons of hex codes, but stated at the end that he was unable to find discrete USB input calls.

If you look through the thread, you will see that he posted 3-4 different, unique codes that brought up the smart hub. You could try those codes and see if they perhaps had a different effect on your TV?

Thanks for the reply. I have tried everything I can find from here and from the IR database within the URC s/w. Things named USB, media play, smarthub, wlink, all do the same thing: takes me to the Smarthub main screen. I called samsung support and asked for the pronto hex codes which they claim "they don't give out". I'm using a macro as a workaround which seems to work fine. But would there be any way to figure out what the discrete is on my own? Is there any s/w out there that could help me figure it out? The reason I ask is that there are tons of items buried in the smarthub sub menus that would be great to just have a discrete for.

Appreciate the help, thanks.

I'm not sure if you understand what SysIntegration said.  This thread lists all 256 IR signals which are possible using the NECx2 IR protocol, device 7.7.  That's the IR protocol Samsung uses with most of their TVs.

Try all of them, starting with the ones which tgrugett didn't get a response from.  If the discrete you want is built into the TV, this search will find it.

Thanks. Excuse my ignorance on this but how do I bring that code into my MX editor? is it available somewhere on RC as a readable file by my s/w?

You've already said in this thread that you test Pronto Hex. So what is the issue?
