Electrician did it on my new build in Ontario (not that I had any control there). With that said, they also seem to be doing all LV stuff for the builder.

That's not necessarily a bad thing, it just depends on how good the electrician is. We have some electricians on this forum board that do serious A/V work.

In my area, every electrician I run into seems to have some form of brain damage. I often look at their shoes to see if they are using velcro, because surely tying laces is beyond their ability.

On some sites the electrician and GC feel that he has the rights to pull all wire, except maybe alarm. We don’t fight this, but we insist that we terminate all of our stuff.

Heh, this company (small outfit named after the owner) did alarm AND vacuum too! At any rate, they do seem to be with it and know what I’m looking for, are making logical choices, and ask questions of me (not builder!) where appropriate. About the only glitch I had is I was getting 4 ceiling speaker lines run with 14/4 to each speaker, and for some reason they put the second set of speakers in series from the first. Was caught in time.

Depends on whether or not you sell "door bells". If you sold or plan to sell something at the front door that requires wire my advice would be to pull the cable and charge for it. It's much cheaper to pull the wire and not need it vs don't pull the wire and need it.
